IAESTE (The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) was established in 1948 at Imperial College in London through the initiatives of 10 countries. As a non-profit, independent, and impartial student exchange organization, IAESTE operates in approximately 80 countries, facilitating the exchange of over 4,000 student interns each year. IAESTE has a confederation structure composed of national committees representing the common interests of academia, industry, and university students.
Operating under the name "International Technical Student Exchange Association" in our country, IAESTE Türkiye works with the support of a national committee representing academic institutions, industry organizations, and student communities. IAESTE Türkiye, led by the central office under the Istanbul Technical University Rectorate, is structured with university representations. Since its establishment, IAESTE Türkiye has provided internship opportunities abroad for nearly 10,000 Turkish students and, similarly, internship opportunities in our country for nearly 10,000 foreign students.
