TÜBİTAK International Collaboration Programs

TÜBİTAK International Collaboration Programs

Joint project calls are made and projects are supported under the bilateral collaboration agreements signed with various countries in the field of science and technology.

Joint Project Proposal and Support Requirements

  • Scientists wishing to propose joint projects are required to agree on becoming "project partners" with the researcher(s) in the country where the bilateral agreement is signed whom they will conduct the project.
  • Project partners in Türkiye are required to fill out the project proposal form, which can be obtained from the "İÇİM" web page, and submit it to TÜBİTAK, whereas foreign project partners are required to obtain the application form from their respective funding institutions and submit it to the related organization.
  • Unilateral applications are not accepted.
  • TÜBİTAK and the counterpart institution review and evaluate the submmitted project proposals in line with their internal processes, and the projects approved by both parties only are supported.
  • Within the project scope, collaborative activities such as short-term exchange of scientists and joint scientific events can be supported.
  • For scientist exchange within the projects, unless otherwise stated in the agreement, the host party covers accommodation and meal expenses, while the sending party covers international travel expenses.
  • In addition to overseas travel support for bilateral cooperation projects, TÜBİTAK might also provide research support to the Turkish side if requested.

The project duration varies depending on the program, but may only be 36 months maximum.

Application periods differ for bilateral programs and are announced on the TÜBİTAK website under the useful links section.
