People’s Republic of Bangladesh

Daffodil International University

Established in 2002, Daffodil International University consists of 6 faculties and 27 departments. It has more than 16,000 students and 730 full-time faculty members offering 38 academic programs. The university is ranked between 1200-1400 in the QS Top Universities ranking.

An MoU was signed between Daffodil International University and Gebze Technical University in March 2023, which enables the universities to engage in collaborations related to common research areas, student and faculty exchange, use of common materials, and information resources.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

University of Mostar

The University of Mostar was founded in 1977. It has 10 faculties and 140 programs with more than 12,000 students and 1,000 academic staff. In addition, the university has 250 mobility opportunities. An MoU was signed between the University of Mostar and Gebze Technical University in December 2020, which enables the universities to engage in collaborations related to common research areas, student and faculty exchange, use of common materials, and information resources.

Republic of Bulgaria

University of National and World Economy

The foundation of the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) dates back to 1920. It has 8 faculties and 4 institutes. University of National and World Economy is one of the 12 universities included in U-Multirank for Bulgaria. The University of National and World Economy is a large public university located in Sofia with more than 20 thousand students enrolled. An MoU was signed between Gebze Technical University and UNWE in May 2024. This agreement foresees the exchange of students and academics and paves the way for cooperation and potential partnership in many areas.

People’s Republic of China

Nanjing Forestry University

Nanjing Forestry University (NJFU) was founded in 1902 and has 1,200 academic staff. NJFU offers undergraduate education, graduate education, international education, continuing education, staff training and so on, with a total of more than 30,000 full-time students. At present, there are 73 undergraduate programs, 31 national first-class programs, and 6 national characteristic programs at NJFU. An MoU was signed between Gebze Technical University and NJFU in 2021, which envisages cooperation in many fields and academic staff/student exchange.

People’s Republic of China

Sanda University

Sanda University was originally founded in June 1992. The university operates across two campuses. It offers 44 undergraduate majors across 8 academic fields, including economics, law, literature, engineering, management, art, medicine, and education, through 13 schools. The university has produced more than 60,000 graduates. The average employment rate for graduates in the past five years has surpassed 95%. The faculty consists of 937 full-time members, with 43.65% holding high-grade professional titles and 34.79% holding doctoral degrees.

An MoU was signed with Sanda University in November 2023 including student and academic exchange, cooperation in projects and many areas.

Federal Republic of Germany

DAI-Labor (Distributed Artificial Intelligence Laboratory)

The DAI-Labor specializes in advanced technology research, including robotics and AI. It boasts cutting-edge facilities and collaborates with academic and industry partners. Research outcomes are published in journals and presented at conferences. The lab is directed by experts and staffed with researchers and graduate students.

A cooperation agreement was signed in June 2015 between DAI-Labor and GTU. The agreement foresees potential partnerships and cooperation in many areas.

Islamic Republic of Iran

University of Tabriz

The University of Tabriz started its activities in 1947 as the second oldest university of country with two faculties of Literature and Medicine. It is now one of the 10 top  universities in Iran. Currently, the University of Tabriz has 21 faculties, 10 research centers, several centers of excellence, and technology unit. An MoE (Memorandum of Exchange) was signed between the University of Tabriz and Gebze Technical University at the end of 2017. Possible cooperation was foreseen between the universities with this agreement.

Islamic Republic of Iran

Kharazmi University

Kharazmi University is a prominent institution known for its strong focus on research and academic excellence. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs across various fields, including sciences, engineering, humanities, and social sciences. The university emphasizes research-driven education and has numerous collaborations with international institutions, contributing significantly to advancements in various disciplines.

Between Gebze Technical University and Kharazmi University, an MoU was signed in 2020. The MoU provides potential partnerships and cooperation, exchange of student and academic staff.

Islamic Republic of Iran

Sharif University of Technology

Sharif University of Technology is a leading institution renowned for its engineering and technology programs. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees across fields such as engineering, physical sciences, and computer science. Known for its rigorous academics and research excellence, Sharif University maintains strong industry connections and international collaborations, contributing significantly to technological advancements and innovation.

An MoE was signed with Sharif University of Technology in January 2021. The agreement foresees possible cooperation for academics in many areas.

Islamic Republic of Iran

University of Tehran

The University of Tehran, Iran's oldest and largest university, offers a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs across diverse fields, including humanities, sciences, engineering, and social sciences. Renowned for its research and academic excellence, it plays a pivotal role in Iran's higher education landscape, fostering international collaborations and contributing significantly to various academic and scientific disciplines.

In February 2021, between Gebze Technical University and the University of Tehran, an MoU which foresees possible partnerships, academic cooperation, and academic/student exchange was signed.

Japan

Japan International Cooperation Agency/Kagawa University

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is a governmental agency dedicated to international development and aid, focusing on projects that promote sustainable development and capacity building in partner countries. Kagawa University is a prominent institution offering diverse programs across fields such as engineering, social sciences, and humanities. The university emphasizes research and community engagement, contributing to regional and international development, often collaborating with organizations like JICA.

The Project for Establishment of a Research and Education Complex for Developing Disaster-Resilient Societies-MARTEST was signed at the end of August 2022.

Republic of Kazakhstan

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is a prestigious institution known for its extensive research and diverse academic offerings. It provides undergraduate and graduate programs in areas like sciences, engineering, and the humanities. The university is committed to advancing research and fostering global partnerships, playing a significant role in academic and scientific advancements in Kazakhstan and internationally.

An MoU was signed in January 2020 that foresees the potential partnerships and cooperation, academic and student exchange.

L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University

L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University is a leading educational institution offering a wide range of academic programs. It provides undergraduate and graduate studies in areas like humanities, sciences, and engineering. The university is dedicated to advancing research and fostering global partnerships, playing a key role in regional and international academic and scientific progress.

An MoU was signed in November 2021 to initiate possible partnerships and cooperations in many academic areas, exchanging academic staff and students.

Republic of Kazakhstan

Satbayev University + KazStandard

Satbayev University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, is a premier technical institution with over 20,000 students and 1,800 faculty members. It provides 47 undergraduate and 63 graduate programs across engineering, natural sciences, and IT. The university emphasizes research and innovation, featuring 30 research centers and over 100 international partnerships. Additionally, it collaborates with KazStandard, the national standardization authority, to ensure its programs align with industry standards and support technological advancements.

An MoU was signed in September 2023 to collaborate in many academic areas including joint projects, student and academic staff exchange.

Malaysia

Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka

Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) is a prominent technical university. Established in 2000, UTeM focuses on engineering, technology, and applied sciences, offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The university is known for its emphasis on research, innovation, and industry collaboration, with a commitment to producing skilled graduates who meet industry demands. UTeM is dedicated to contributing to technological advancement and supporting regional and national development.

An MoU was signed in October 2022 between Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka and Gebze Technical University. The agreement fpresees potential cooperation in many areas and exchanging students and academic staff.

University Utara Malaysia

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) is a prominent public university with a strong focus on management, business, and social sciences. Founded in 1984, UUM provides a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in fields such as business, economics, law, and international relations. The university emphasizes research, development, and building industry partnerships, aiming to excel academically and tackle global issues through international collaboration.

An MoU was signed in March 2024 for academic collaborations and academic/student exchange between GTU and UUM.

Islamic Republic of Pakistan

 National Centre for Physics

The National Centre for Physics (NCP) is a premier research institute specializing in fundamental and applied physics. Established in 1999, NCP focuses on high-energy physics, nuclear physics, and advanced materials research. It operates advanced facilities, including particle accelerators and specialized laboratories. The center collaborates with international research institutions and contributes to major global projects like the Large Hadron Collider. NCP also emphasizes training and capacity building for young scientists and researchers.

An MoU was signed in 2022 for possible partnerships and cooperation in academic areas.

Islamic Republic of Pakistan

MNS University of Agriculture

MNS University of Agriculture is a prominent institution dedicated to agricultural education and research. Established in 1991, the university offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in agriculture, agribusiness, and related fields. It focuses on advancing agricultural practices through innovative research, technology transfer, and industry collaboration. The university is committed to enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability to address national and global food security challenges.

An MoU between MNS University of Agriculture and Gebze Technical University was signed in October 2022. The agreement includes joint projects and cooperation in many areas. 

Islamic Republic of Pakistan

International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi

The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at the University of Karachi, established in 1988, is a premier research facility in Pakistan specializing in chemical and biological sciences. It is renowned for its advanced research in areas such as drug discovery, molecular biology, and biotechnology. ICCBS houses state-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities, including the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research and the H. E. J. Research Institute of Chemistry. The center fosters international collaborations with leading global institutions and contributes significantly to scientific advancements and health innovations.

An MoU was signed in April 2023 for potential partnerships and collaborations in academic areas and academic/student exchange.

Islamic Republic of Pakistan*

OIC’s Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH)

The Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) is an organization within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) established in 1981. COMSTECH aims to promote scientific and technological collaboration among OIC member states to enhance their research capabilities and address common challenges. It focuses on areas such as science and technology policy, capacity building, and fostering partnerships between scientists and institutions across member countries.

An MoU was signed in April 2024. The agreement supports various initiatives, including joint conferences, research projects, and educational programs, to advance scientific knowledge and technological development within the OIC community and GTU.

Islamic Republic of Pakistan

Bahria University

Bahria University, founded in 2000, is a prominent institution with campuses across the country. It excels in research across engineering, business, social sciences, and health sciences. The university is known for its applied research and industry partnerships, contributing to national development. Bahria is Pakistan's top universities for research and academic performance.

An MoU and an MoE between Bahria University and Gebze Technical University were signed in April 2024. The agreements foresee possible academic partnerships and cooperation.

National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST)

The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Pakistan, established in 1991, is a leading institution known for its emphasis on engineering, technology, and applied sciences. It offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across fields such as engineering, computer science, and business. NUST is renowned for its research output, with a focus on innovation and technology development.

An MoU was signed in July 2024 between GTU and NUST. The MoU focuses on potential partnerships and collaboration between GTU and NUST.

Islamic Republic of Pakistan

Riphah International University

Riphah International University (RIU), established in 2002, is a private institution. Known for its emphasis on research and quality education, it offers a range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs across various fields, including business, engineering, medical sciences, and social sciences. The university aims to integrate modern technology and ethical values into its academic environment, preparing students for global challenges.

An MoU was signed in August 2024 between GTU and RIU to collaborate in many areas including joint education activities and projects. The agreement foresees possible partnerships and academic cooperation.

Romania

Petroleum-Gas University

Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești is a specialized institution dedicated to engineering and technological education in the petroleum and gas industry. Established in 1948, it offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in areas such as petroleum engineering, gas engineering, and environmental engineering. The university is known for its research in energy resources, drilling technology, and environmental management. It collaborates with industry partners and international institutions to advance knowledge and innovation in the energy sector.

An MoU was signed in April 2022 between GTU and the Petroleum and Gas University of Ploiești. The MoU foresees possible academic cooperation which includes joint projects and student and academic exchange.

Russian Federation

Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University

Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University is a notable institution established in 1993. It offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across fields such as humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering. The university is recognized for its emphasis on research, particularly in regional studies, information technology, and environmental sciences. It fosters strong academic and research collaborations with national and international institutions.

An MoU was signed in April 2021 for collaborations between Gebze Technical University and Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University. The agreement implies for joint education activities, projects and academic/student exchanges.

Kazan Scientific Center of Russian Academy of Sciences

The Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences is a prominent research institution established in 1934. It focuses on a broad range of scientific disciplines, including physics, chemistry, biology, and materials science. The center is known for its advanced research and innovation in these fields, contributing significantly to both fundamental and applied sciences. It collaborates extensively with national and international research entities and plays a key role in scientific and technological development in Russia.

An MoU was signed in November 2021 between GTU and Kazan Scientific Center of Russian Academy of Sciences. The MoU foresees possible collaborations and partnerships in many areas.

Nikolaev Institute of Inorganic Chemistry

The Nikolaev Institute of Inorganic Chemistry is a premier research institution founded in 1957. It focuses on inorganic chemistry, particularly in coordination chemistry, organometallics, and materials science. The institute is well-regarded for its research on the synthesis, characterization, and application of inorganic compounds. It maintains extensive collaborations with both national and international research organizations, advancing scientific knowledge and innovation in the field of inorganic chemistry.

An MoU was signed at the end of 2022. The MoU consists of potential partnerships and cooperation in academic areas. It also includes academic staff and student exchange.

Kingdom of Spain

 Agencia Estatal de Investigación

The Agencia Estatal de Investigación (State Research Agency) is a Spanish governmental body responsible for promoting and funding scientific research and technological development in Spain. Established to coordinate and enhance research efforts, it allocates grants and resources to various scientific projects and institutions. The agency aims to foster innovation, support cutting-edge research, and strengthen Spain's scientific and technological capabilities, collaborating with national and international research communities.

An MoU was signed at the end of 2020 with the State Research Agency and Gebze Technical University for possible partnerships and cooperation.

Taiwan

National Taiwan University of Science and Technology

National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), founded in 1974 is a prominent technical university. It offers over 50 undergraduate and graduate programs across engineering, business, design, and applied sciences. NTUST serves approximately 10,000 students with a faculty of around 600 members. The university is known for its strong emphasis on research and innovation, with numerous research centers and extensive international collaborations.

An MoE was signed in September 2018. The agreement includes academic partnerships and cooperation.

Taiwan

National University of Kaohsiung

National University of Kaohsiung (NUK) is a comprehensive public university established in 2005. It offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs across fields such as business, public affairs, social sciences, and humanities. NUK is known for its focus on research and community engagement, with a commitment to fostering academic excellence and contributing to regional and global development. The university serves approximately 6,000 students and has a dedicated faculty to support its diverse academic programs.

An MoU was signed in January 2020 between NUK and GTU for collaboration .

Taiwan

National Formosa University

National Formosa University (NFU) was established in 2000. The university provides a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs in areas including engineering, business, design, and social sciences. NFU emphasizes applied research and practical experience, fostering strong ties with industry and local communities. It supports around 7,000 students and boasts a faculty committed to enhancing academic and professional growth.

An MoU was signed in January 2020 between GTU and NFU. The MoU foresees potential partnerships and cooperation between GTU and NFU.

USA

Missouri University of Science and Technology

Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) is a distinguished public research university founded in 1870. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs with a focus on engineering, science, and technology. The university serves approximately 7,500 students and has a faculty of around 500 members. Missouri S&T is known for its strong emphasis on research, innovation, and practical applications, with numerous research centers and industry partnerships.

An MoU was signed in September 2015 for collaboration between Missouri University of Science and Technology and Gebze Technical University.

USA

San  José State University

San José State University (SJSU) is a major public research university established in 1857. It offers a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate programs across disciplines such as engineering, business, humanities, and social sciences. With an enrollment of over 36,000 students and a faculty of approximately 1,400, SJSU is known for its strong emphasis on experiential learning, research, and community engagement. The university maintains robust industry connections and contributes significantly to the local and regional economy.

An MoU was signed in November 2023 between GTU and SJSU. The MoU foresees joint projects, academic cooperation and partnerships as well as student and academic staff exchange.

Republic of Uzbekistan

Samarkand State Architectural and Civil Engineering Institute

Samarkand State Architectural and Civil Engineering Institute, located in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, is a key institution specializing in architecture and civil engineering. Established in 1930, the institute offers undergraduate and graduate programs in fields such as architectural design, urban planning, and civil engineering. It is renowned for its focus on practical and theoretical aspects of construction and design, contributing significantly to regional development and infrastructure projects. The institute supports a large student body and emphasizes research and industry collaboration.

An MoU was signed between GTU and Samarkand State Architectural and Civil Engineering Institute in June 2023 for possible partnerships and cooperation. The joint projects, student and academic exchange, and trainings were foreseen.

Republic of Uzbekistan

Gulistan State University

Gulistan State University is a prominent public university established in 1992. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs across disciplines including natural sciences, humanities, engineering, and social sciences. The university focuses on providing quality education, fostering research, and promoting community engagement. With a commitment to academic excellence and professional development, Gulistan State University plays a significant role in regional educational and scientific advancements.

An MoU was signed in November 2023. The agreement includes academic cooperation and partnerships, student/academic exchange and joint projects.
