How to Cooperate

cooperation-how-to-cooperate

You can collaborate with International Cooperation Office at GTU in various ways, depending upon the nature of your work. Some of these are highlighted below:

  • If you are a GTU alumnus abroad - Gebze Technical University (GTU) actively fosters strong partnerships with its alumni abroad through continuous communication and support. The university maintains regular updates and has established dedicated contact points to keep the alumni connected. International alumni chapters are encouraged, and virtual meetups are organized to strengthen the global network in the form of research projects, guest lectures, and student and faculty exchange programs, facilitating valuable professional opportunities. Alumni achievements are celebrated through awards and features in university publications, inspiring the GTU community. GTU also supports its alumni through professional development opportunities, access to academic resources, and collaborative fundraising efforts, including the establishment of endowments and scholarships, ensuring a lasting and mutually beneficial relationship. If any of the following resonate with you, and you would like to be a part of these initiatives, please reach out to the International Cooperation Office.

  • If you are part of an international student association - GTU’s International Cooperation Office is actively looking to connect with international student associations both within and outside Türkiye. These connections are aimed at promoting various academic, research, and cultural activities at GTU for potential international students. In such cases, the international student associations form a bridge between the university and the students they represent. In return, GTU can provide logistics support for these associations for their events and initiatives.

  • If you are representing a university/research center outside of Türkiye - With a clear globalization strategy, GTU is targeting academic and research partners to promote exchange of human and technical resources at all levels. This includes student, staff, and faculty exchange as well as joint research and project collaborations. If you represent a university or a research organization looking to tap into the Turkish ecosystem, GTU and its International Cooperation Office are waiting for you.

  • If you are an academic consultant/education fair organizer - GTU aims to expand its global presence and attract high-quality students from around the world. For this purpose, our office collaborates with academic consultants and education fair organizers by engaging in a range of cooperative activities to enhance its global outreach and recruitment efforts. GTU also partners with education fair organizers to showcase its programs and research opportunities, participating in fairs and exhibitions to attract prospective students and build international relationships. Additionally, GTU may provide promotional materials, host informational sessions, and engage in joint marketing efforts with these organizers to effectively communicate the university's strengths and opportunities.

  • If you are a local public sector entity - GTU promises its international student and faculty members an authentic Turkish experience throughout their journey with GTU. For this purpose, GTU often collaborates with local public sector entities to organize events that would enrich the experience of its international contingent. In return, the local entities may get access to the various countries represented by our students and faculty.

  • If you are representing a consulate/embassy - GTU cooperates with representatives of consulates or embassies through various strategic initiatives to enhance diplomatic and academic relationships. The university collaborates on organizing and hosting events such as diplomatic forums, cultural exhibitions, and academic conferences, which foster mutual understanding and international cooperation. GTU also engages with consulates and embassies to facilitate student exchange programs, internships, and joint research projects that align with diplomatic interests and regional goals. The university may provide support for consulate-led community outreach and public diplomacy efforts, leveraging its academic resources and expertise. By maintaining open lines of communication and working closely with diplomatic representatives, GTU strengthens its international ties and contributes to global engagement.
